In exploring the acrylic medium, I delve into its mysteries—embracing the interplay of translucency and transparency, textures and fluidities. I am captivated by how surface reflections and refractions dance across my canvases, with metallics, and interference paints adding depth and intrigue to my work. Breaking down self-imposed barriers and those I may be unaware of, I allow spontaneity to guide my artistic process. My painterly gestures express a sense of randomness that mirrors the intricate chaos of the forest—a symphonic cacophony teeming with life, where mycelium and roots communicate for the survival of the forest. I envision the forest as an orchestra, each element contributing to a harmonious yet chaotic symphony. With every brushstroke, I engage in a dialogue with my materials, reflecting the interconnectedness of all living things. My work embodies this vibrant interplay, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the beauty of life, the struggle for survival, and the resilience within the natural world.
The forest is a powerful metaphor for human connection and the need to protect our planet. Just as the trees and the understory depend on one another for sustenance and strength, we must acknowledge our shared bonds in life. By caring for our planet, we inherently care for each other, deepening our connections with ourselves and one another. Each brushstroke I make reflects this connection, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and understanding in our shared journey.
