Sepulveda
Simón Sepúlveda is a Chilean visual artist and university professor, born in 1989. He holds a degree in Graphic Design and a Master's in Territory and Landscape from Universidad Diego Portales in Santiago. His work spans various mediums, including graphic design, illustration, motion graphics, art direction, visual identity, branding, and textile design. Sepúlveda's art explores themes ranging from intimate to political, social, and territorial landmarks, utilizing everyday materials such as bricks, fabrics, drawings, and found objects. He combines ancestral and contemporary practices, integrating digital and pre-Columbian codes with vibrant color palettes and saturated graphic compositions reminiscent of Latin American textile traditions.
Throughout his career, Sepúlveda has received notable accolades, including an honorable mention in the 2017 MAVI Young Art Prize in Santiago. In 2021, he was among the eight artists selected by Fundación Montemadrid for the 21st edition of the Certamen de Apoyo al Arte Joven Generaciones in Madrid. His work has been exhibited in galleries, institutions, and biennials in Chile, the United States, Spain, and Germany.
